Lockout/Tagout OSHA 29CFR1910.147 Energy Control/Lockout Tagout Standard was created and became effective on January 2, 1990. After that date all new, renovated, or equipment receiving major repair must be equipped with a lockable device and have machine specific lockout tagout procedures to remove all energy from that equipment.
